1. Communication Skills

Verbal Communication: Practice clear and concise speaking for meetings and presentations.

Written Communication: Improve email etiquette and report writing.


2. Time Management

Prioritization: Learn to identify urgent vs. important tasks.

Scheduling: Use tools like calendars and to-do lists effectively.


3. Technical Skills

Software Proficiency: Get comfortable with tools relevant to your field (e.g., Excel, project management software).

Basic Data Analysis: Understand how to interpret data relevant to your role.


4. Problem-Solving

Critical Thinking: Develop the ability to analyze situations and come up with effective solutions.

Adaptability: Be open to changing approaches based on feedback or new information.


5. Research Skills

Information Gathering: Know how to find reliable information quickly.

Data Presentation: Be able to summarize findings clearly for presentations or reports.


6. Self-Management

Initiative: Take responsibility for your learning and seek out new tasks.

Feedback Receptiveness: Be open to constructive criticism and use it for improvement.


Important Dates

May - June 2024 - Employers will be invited to match their projects with Level UP. The Level UP team will work with employers to match projects. You will not receive any student applications during this time. 

June 2024 - Students will be invited to join Level UP. Students will apply to projects, and employers can accept or decline applications. Projects can start immediately upon acceptance.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

1- Identify and discuss the impact of global issues on an organization's business opportunities by using an environmental scan.

2- Apply principles of corporate sustainability, corporate social responsibility and ethics to support an organization's business initiatives.

3- Use current concepts/systems and technologies to support an organization's business initiatives.

4- Apply basic research skills to support business decision making

5- Support the planning, implementation and monitoring of projects

The Level UP team seeks multidisciplinary projects for students to complete in 60 hours over 2-8 weeks. Students cannot work more than 30 hours per week. Project outlines must be clear and descriptive, outlining the main goal, scope, expectations, deliverables, required skills and resources, company overview, and mentorship strategy.

Business 

  • Social Media Campaign: Develop and execute a social media campaign for a new product, including content creation, scheduling, and analytics.
  • Market Research Report: Conduct research on competitors and market trends, then present findings and recommendations.


2. Information Technology

  • Web Application Development: Build a small web app using frameworks like React or Django, focusing on user experience and functionality.
  • API Integration: Work on integrating third-party APIs into an existing application, improving its features or data capabilities.


3. Media 

  • Branding Project: Create a new logo and branding materials for a startup or non-profit organization, including business cards and promotional flyers.
  • Infographic Creation: Design an infographic that visually represents complex data or information, suitable for a blog or presentation.


4.. Environmental

  • Sustainability Assessment: Conduct an assessment of a company’s sustainability practices and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Community Awareness Campaign: Design and implement a campaign to raise awareness about environmental issues in the local community.


5.. Research

  • Literature Review: Conduct a literature review on a specific topic and summarize key findings, identifying gaps for future research.


Experimental Design: Assist in designing an experiment, collecting data, and analyzing results in a lab setting.
