Is your organization preparing to launch a new product, service, campaign, or internal initiative? Could this new undertaking benefit from more thorough planning? Seize your opportunity to work with faculty and students from around the world to develop a comprehensive project management plan for a project of your choosing. The students in this class are completing the international Business Management and Global Business Management program at Mohawk College in Hamilton Ontario.

We are looking to work with an organization that has a project management need to provide a work-integrated learning experience for our students and make a positive impact on an organization.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

· Phase 1 – Students and/or faculty will meet with organization representative(s) to identify problem(s) and/or questions(s) and prepare a detailed action plan for preparing alternative solutions.

· Phase 2 –Students will work on deliverables outlined in the action plan. Students and/or faculty will periodically communicate with organization representative(s) as needed to complete project tasks.

· Phase 3 - The final deliverables will be agreed upon in Phase 1 and will vary by project. Generally, your organization will receive a report, presentation, or action plan with recommendations.

Project Examples

Requirements

Students will be designing professional project management plans that you can re-use for future projects. Students will work with you to understand your project goals and constraints, and will apply project management theories and concepts to develop a detailed action plan.

Project examples include, but are not limited to:

A plan for a new product launchA plan for a new service launch A plan for a client or employee event A plan for software or system implementation A plan for the release of a new pricing model A plan for a new employee rewards and recognition program

Please note: While this isn’t expected, if the project aligns to students’ skills and interests, they may be able to execute some project tasks.

Characteristics of Students:

Represent a variety of disciplines within project management principles Have a sound understanding of project management and apply such skills along with business, new product development and other financial skills. This course is part of a one-year or two-year program that the students are enrolled inThey are graduates, with all of them having completed an undergraduate degree and or some MBA or other post graduate qualifications as well.Many are international students and thus have an opportunity to contribute towards a global / international project.Graduating in June/July 2021
