Welcome to The University of Winnipeg's Applied Psychology Program, where experiential learning meets real-world challenges. Our program aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by providing students with hands-on opportunities to apply their psychological knowledge and skills to real-world projects. As the professor facilitating this experience, I invite you to collaborate with us and empower your business through meaningful partnerships.
Steps for Matching:
Step 1: Match Request Submission: Submit your project for consideration, and we'll discuss its suitability via a video call.
Step 2: Pre-Approval: If both parties agree, we'll confirm the match on the Riipen platform, though note that this is only pre-approval at this stage.
Step 3: Students Choosing: Your project will be available for students to select, allowing them to choose the projects they're most passionate about.
Step 4: Collaboration Starts: All communication will be conducted on the Riipen platform, ensuring seamless interaction among educators, employers, and learners.
Ideal Partner:
We seek partners who offer volunteer placement activities from community, government, or private organizations. Whether it's research projects or clinical/counseling settings, we welcome partners committed to providing supervised learning opportunities that align with our program's objectives.

Requirements
Project Examples:
- Advising on staff well-being, improved collaboration and participation, mediation
- Conducting psychology-focused research and analysis of studies
- Providing community training, including bystander intervention in harassment and potential violence situations
- Working in community health, social services, and/or clinics while assisting in projects promoting health and well-being
- Working on social issues on a community, group or individual level, such as family violence prevention, alcohol and other drug addictions, suicide / self-harm prevention, LGBTIQ, violence against women prevention, employment, housing, refugee support, support of those with mental health diagnosis.
