Looking to elevate your organization, and bring it to the next level? Bring on learners from St Ambrose University to be your learner-consultants, in a project-based experience. Learners will work on one main project over the experience of the semester, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.


Learners in this program/experience learn how managers use accounting information to make informed business decisions. Topics include product costing, budgeting and managerial control.

Expected outcomes and deliverables

Deliverables are negotiable, and will seek to align the needs of the learners and the organization. 


Some final project deliverables might include: 

  1. A 10-15 minute presentation on key findings and recommendations
  2. A detailed report including their research, analysis, insights and recommendations

Project Examples

Requirements

Learners in groups of 3-5 will work with your company to identify your needs and provide actionable recommendations, based on their in-depth research and analysis.


Project activities that learners can complete may include, but are not limited to: 


  • Allocating, recording, and analyzing costs using various costing systemts, including, activity-based costing
  • Perform cost-volume-profit analysis
  • Preparing a master budget and analyze costs using flexible budgets and standard costs.
  • Making decisions using responsibility accounting, relevant costing, and capital budgeting.
  • Discussing the concept of Triple Bottom Line: Developing ethical and philosophical foundations for making business decisions.
