Identify key competitors: This includes major manufacturers, retailers, and installers of blinds, shades, shutters, curtains, and other window covering products in the Vancouver area. Both large companies and smaller, specialized businesses will be included.

Analyze product offerings: A detailed examination of the types of window coverings offered, including materials, styles, functionalities (motorization, smart home integration), and price points.

Assess market share and competitive positioning: Determine the market share of major players and analyze their competitive strategies, including branding, marketing, and distribution channels.

Identify emerging trends: Explore trends such as eco-friendly materials, smart home technology integration, and customization options. 


  • Uncover opportunities for differentiation: Pinpoint potential areas where new or existing businesses can differentiate themselves in the market, such as through specialized products, unique services, or innovative marketing approaches.
Deliverables

By the end of the project, students should demonstrate:

  • Familiarity with our company, products, and target market
  • Identification of competitors
  • Creation of a matrix with competitor features
  • Summary of our company’s advantages and disadvantages

Bonus steps would include:
