Students will work with a collection of local wildlife pictures and also possibly sounds collected over many years by Dr. Sally Stuart. Using this collection, wildlife guides will be produced for the diverse groups of organisms. Currently there are very few guides available for local organisms, and for some animals such as common moth species none. The information will be laid out in a poster format on a computer but will be available as a pdf so guides can be readily downloaded and printed. Guides must be extremely visual with clear, simple, professionally written information.

Deliverables

The key to these identification guides is they must be visually stunning; the information must be clear and easy to understand.

·      Students will be provided with pictures of organisms and must identify each species using online tools such as iNaturalist, nature guides etc.

·      Search the literature for information on each species to include in the guide (i.e., Size, food preferences etc.)

·      Decide what information to include in the guide.

·      Write concise clear description for each species.

·      Select the format and lay out the information on a computer. This will include the photographs provide by myself and the written information.

Produce a series of posters/guides.
