Henkel Diversified Inc. manufactures a safety release coathook that employs two rare earth permanent magnets as the hold and release mechanism. James Henkel invented the hook following the death of a Chatham Ontario student who was hung on a rigid coathook in a school washroom by fellow students. The goal is to supply this product at a reasonable cost to school boards, municipalities, mental health facilities, closed custody facilities and seniors residences to prevent death and injury by accident and/or misadventure throughout North America and the UK.
