Deliverables

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project.

Project Examples

Students can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well. Providing a central project creates structure for the internship, and gives the student a tangible goal.

Area of interests include:

  • Opportunities related to social work, families/relationships, counselling
  • Research related to psychology and mental health
  • Law/legal service opportunities
  • Working with vulnerable populations on a community, group or individual level
  • Cyber security and software development
  • Working with HR organizations or departments for assessments of candidates
Additional organization criteria

Organizations must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.

Providing in advance specific policies or procedures from the organization that applies to the student

Completing and returning any paperwork and progress reports in a timely matter and acknowledging that the student is required to abide by all MacEwan University policies concerning the Work Integrated Learning placement

Recognizing that the student will remain a MacEwan University student, regardless of whether he or she is a host organization employee and understanding that the work-integrated learning placement is a learning opportunity for the student and will support course learning outcomes
