MacEwan University is seeking an unpaid virtual remote internship focusing on computer science, for a second-year, international student.
The student can work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.
The student is available for a minimum of 90 hours of placement from May 3rd to July 12th but can be longer, extending until August 31st.
The student is equipped with a solid foundation of transferable skills which include:
- Communication skills (written and verbal)
- Teamwork including relationship building and collaboration
- Taking initiative and providing solutions to new tasks
- Time management skills and prioritizing tasks
- Active listener and open to feedback
- Learner skills
- Communication, Web development, Programming, Time management, User interface design

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the project.
Project Examples
Our student can complete a substantial project for your organization over the placement period. We suggest providing a starting project, but as the placement goes on there may be other duties or projects the student is asked to complete as well.
Area of interests include:
- Programming Languages - Python, C, C++, Rust beginner
- OS : Linux, Windows
- Experience with bash script
- User Interface Design

Organizations must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:
Recognizing that the student will remain a MacEwan University student, regardless of whether he or she is a host organization employee and understanding that the work-integrated learning placement is a learning opportunity for the student and will support course learning outcomes
Completing and returning any paperwork and progress reports in a timely matter and acknowledging that the student is required to abide by all MacEwan University policies concerning the Work Integrated Learning placement
Providing in advance specific policies or procedures from the organization that applies to the student
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions.
