Looking to elevate your business, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from the College of the North Atlantic in the Software Development program to be your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools.

Students in this program are poised to succeed in the integrated work areas of: application, software, web, mobile app and database development.

Students are required to complete 420 hours of placement between May 10th to August 21st.

This is a paid internship opportunity, please only request this course if your organization is willing to pay the interns. Funding or wage subsidy may be available to offset salaries.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually.

Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the internship. However, these deliverables must be discussed and agreed upon prior to the start of the internship.

Requirements

Software Development is a three year co-op program providing students with knowledge and in depth practical skills. This will be the first internship placement following successful completion of Semesters 1 and 2 of the program. Students have the skills and knowledge to work as part of a team to design and develop IT solutions by applying techniques and skills acquired such as:

  • Advanced object-oriented programming using (Python)
  • Design, Implement and Manage Relational databases using SQL
  • Systems Analysis using SDLC, Waterfall and Agile techniques
  • HTML/CSS and Content Management Systems
