Computer Systems & Networking
Virtual Internship Opportunity for Computer Systems & Networking Students. Hire one or more of our graduating students as your interns in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students are to be available for at least 30 hours a week starting May 10th, 2021 to August 20th, 2021.
Software Development (co-op) Program
Looking to elevate your business, and bring it to the next level? Bring on students from the College of the North Atlantic in the Software Development program to be your virtual interns, in a project-based experience. Students will work on one or more projects of your choosing over the internship period, connecting with you as needed with virtual communication tools. Students in this program are poised to succeed in the integrated work areas of: application, software, web, mobile app and database development. Students are required to complete 420 hours of placement between May 10th to August 21st. This is a paid internship opportunity, please only request this course if your organization is willing to pay the interns. Funding or wage subsidy may be available to offset salaries. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, student placements will only occur virtually.
HR Planning
HN2210
Students from the College of the North Atlantic in HN2210 and HN3110 will develop a targeted HR strategic analysis for an industry partner (i.e., local companies, community organizations, government agencies, NGOs). Students will research, develop and present a seminar/paper on selected topics from among the following areas explored in the courses: human resource management industrial relations recruitment and selection occupational health and safety employment and labour law collective agreement administration attendance and disability management compensation and benefits human resource planning and dispute resolution. Students (in Teams of 4) will have some 4 hours per week of class time (16 person hours per week over 10 weeks = 160 person hours) dedicated to such research and development as it might apply to a specific organization or business.... and will present a research paper and 1-hour presentation on same.
Multi Disciplinary Applied Research and Innovation Projects - Spring/Summer Semester

The Office of Applied Research and Innovation is dedicated to supporting local industry and community partners throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. It serves as the College’s main point of contact for industry, community groups and government interested in applied research collaborations focused on solving real-world problems that impede the development and growth of our industries and communities. Our students come from programs found within the schools of Business/IT, Applied Arts and Tourism, and Engineering Technology . Based on the needs of the company project, we can highlight and identify students from multiple disciplines in order to execute on the project. Students can complete projects individually or in small groups based on your needs. The timeline is flexible as students can be hired until the last week of January, but will need to complete 420 hours of work.
