Patent Research and Documentation for Technological Innovations
Starmass Canada is at the forefront of technology innovation and is preparing to patent five groundbreaking innovations. The goal of this project is to conduct thorough research and compile comprehensive documentation to support the patent application process. This project provides learners with the opportunity to apply their classroom knowledge of intellectual property and research methodologies to real-world scenarios. The team will focus on gathering relevant data, analyzing existing patents, and ensuring that the documentation meets the necessary legal and technical standards. This project is designed to be completed by a team of learners from a technology or engineering program, allowing them to gain valuable insights into the patenting process and the intricacies of intellectual property management.

Construction Supply Cost Optimizer
The construction industry faces significant challenges in managing supply costs due to the opaque pricing strategies of distributors and the dynamic nature of material costs. Contractors often find themselves spending excessive time and resources searching for materials, both during the bidding process and the actual delivery of services. This project aims to address these inefficiencies by developing a prototype tool for Rukbe Tech Inc's Money Saver and Seller Hub product. The tool will streamline the process of sourcing construction materials by providing a centralized platform for price comparison, tracking price changes, and facilitating communication with distributors. By reducing the time spent on these tasks, contractors can focus more on delivering quality services and less on administrative burdens.

Lake Louise Resort Summer Interactive Map
The project aims to enhance guests' experiences at Lake Louise Resort by increasing their awareness of available services and amenities during their visit, with a focus on improving summer sales. Currently, the resort utilizes an aerial photo overlaid with trail information, which, though helpful, lacks mobile functionality and fails to provide guests with a clear perspective of their surroundings. Moreover, geo-important features such as shuttle pickup locations, e-bike rentals, trailheads, viewing locations, and other amenities are fragmented across various web content sources. The proposed solution involves the implementation of a digital interactive trail map for summer operations, offering guests a mobile-ready, user-friendly interface that integrates all essential amenities, trails, and information. In addition to providing key insights into offered amenities, the project will address a key attraction for visitors -- wildlife spotting. Mountain staff may optionally add geo-located wildlife sightings directly onto the map, complete with timestamps and optional pictures further incentivizing their visit to the Lake Louise Gondola. This centralized resource will provide guests with easy access to crucial amenities and enhance their overall experience at the resort, ultimately contributing to increased guest satisfaction and summer sales.

Community Engagement Gamification App
GeoHub seeks to develop an interactive mobile application designed to enhance community engagement through location-based challenges and games. The app aims to drive foot traffic and sales for partner businesses by gamifying real-world activities. Users will be encouraged to explore their surroundings and participate in various challenges, earning rewards such as discounts, free items, and gift cards. The project will focus on creating a seamless user experience that integrates engaging game mechanics with practical incentives. By leveraging the power of gamification, the app will foster a sense of community and encourage users to support local businesses. The project will require the application of classroom knowledge in mobile app development, user interface design, and gamification strategies.
