Bio

My farm is a place of respite and renewal for people entering a new phase of life after transitions of any kind and for those seeking to better understand “what’s next” for themselves. We host small events with an emphasis on connection to land and nature, as well as to our inner lights that may have become dimmed with time. The hayfork and sickle, hand tools of harvest, symbolize the importance of recognizing when an idea is ready, or when a journey is over, so that we can reap the rewards of our efforts and also prepare for our next season of life.

Acupuncture Practice Software Integration and Testing

Hayfork & Sickle LLC is in the process of opening a private medical acupuncture practice and requires assistance in adopting new software solutions for booking, billing, and charting. The primary goal is to ensure that the chosen software is fully functional, user-friendly, and compliant with HIPAA regulations to protect patient data. The project involves prototyping and testing the software to identify any potential issues before the practice opens in December 2025. This project provides an opportunity for learners to apply their knowledge of software testing, data security, and healthcare compliance. The tasks are closely related and can be completed by a team of learners from a single academic program focused on information technology or healthcare administration.

Website & marketing, new small business hosting workshops

I'm getting a new business off the ground and would like to update my old placeholder website to reflect my current offerings. I host on-site and virtual workshops and retreats, and the customer-facing functionality needs to include the calendar of events, FAQs/inquiries, booking, and payment. I would like to collaborate with students to create new pages that help users navigate the site and find up-to-date information. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Creating new pages for the website, with our assistance in providing the content. Reviewing and updating old web pages to ensure consistency of information. Recommending potential upgrades or features that can be included in the website
