Chukwunonso Nwabufo is the founder of OneDrug and a multiple award-winning pharmacologist with over six years’ experience in drug development across academia and the pharmaceutical industry. Nwabufo contributed to the development of Remdesivir and Lenacapavir approved for the treatment of COVID-19 and HIV respectively during his tenure at Gilead Sciences. He also contributed to the development of novel compounds under basic science research for the treatment and/or diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.
Nwabufo has received more than 20 awards and recognitions worth more than C$200K in funding due to academic, research, and leadership accomplishments. Nwabufo is the author of 15 peer-reviewed scientific papers and 11 industry-standard peer-reviewed reports in support of drug development programs.Currently, Nwabufo is a PhD candidate in pharmaceutical sciences at the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto and has received the prestigious Canadian Institutes of Health Research Canada Graduate Scholarship Doctoral Award, and Canadian Institutes of Health Research Canada Graduate Scholarships – Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements Award to support his research which is investigating pharmacological strategies for improving the clinical efficacy and safety of respiratory medicines, particularly, promising drugs for treating SARS-CoV-2 infection. His research work on optimizing the pharmacology of respiratory medicines has received C$121K in funding from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy.
Nwabufo serves as an editorial board member of Drug Metabolism Reviews and Journal of Applied Bioanalysis. He is an abstract screener for PharmSci360 conference and Chair for the Pharmacokinetic, Pharmacodynamic, and Drug Metabolism Community of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists, USA.

The project involves the development of a prototype for a smart point of care pharmacogenetic testing device. OneDrug Inc. aims to create a device that enables healthcare providers to quickly identify patients who may experience adverse drug reactions due to genetic variations. This device will facilitate personalized treatment plans, improving patient outcomes and reducing healthcare costs. The project will focus on integrating genetic data analysis with user-friendly technology to ensure rapid and accurate results. The team will apply their knowledge of genetics, biomedical engineering, and software development to create a functional prototype that meets industry standards. Key tasks include designing the device interface, developing the genetic analysis algorithm, and testing the prototype for accuracy and reliability.

Website Development for OneDrug Inc.
The main goal for the project is to develop a user-friendly and informative website for OneDrug Inc. that showcases their smart point of care technologies and empowers healthcare providers to tailor treatments to patients based on their genetic profile. This will involve several different steps for the learners, including: - Understanding the company's mission, products, and target audience. - Designing and developing the website with a focus on user experience and information delivery. - Integrating smart point of care technologies and genetic profiling information into the website. - Testing the website for functionality and user-friendliness. - Implementing feedback and making necessary improvements to the website.

Client Acquisition Project for OneDrug's Smart Point of Care Technology
The main goal for the project is to generate 10 paying clients for OneDrug's smart point of care technology products. This will involve several different steps for the learners, including: - Researching the target market and identifying potential clients in the healthcare industry. - Developing a marketing strategy to promote OneDrug's products to potential clients. - Creating a sales pitch and presentation to showcase the benefits of OneDrug's technology. - Engaging with potential clients through calls, emails, and meetings to present the products and negotiate deals. - Following up with leads and closing sales to achieve the target of 10 paying clients.
