Website Review

The College of Arts and Science website is a valuable resource for students in navigating important information related to their studies. We would like to conduct an analysis of the current website and make changes that will enhance the student experience. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: • conducting a thorough review of both the Arts and Science website and the websites of comparable colleges from other Universities; • noting deficiencies in the Arts and Science website; • identifying areas of improvement for the Arts and Science website.

Course Sequencing and Academic Advising

We would like to collaborate with selected students in creating useful academic resources that will make the process of course selection and registration easier for our students while providing training and mentorship in academic advising and student services for those selected.  Tasks may involve: Reviewing and analyzing the Course and Program Catalogue for programs offered through the College of Arts and Science in the University of Saskatchewan Identifying prerequisite for courses in each program type and arranging courses in the sequence they should be taken across levels. Identifying areas of overlaps in program requirements where a student might be able to complete multiple programs with a limited number of credits. Highlighting and matching academic policies to programs with complex requirements.

File Transfer, Archive and Organization

Our unit currently stores many files on a network drive. Many of these files have not been reviewed or accessed for many years. We would like to collaborate with selected students to do a large-scale review and archival of old redundant files and transfer current relevant files to a new cloud-based wiki. This will involve several different steps for the students, including: Familiarizing themselves with our current file storage system Creating any additional subfolders needed in the wiki. Transferring files into the wiki efficiently Removal or archival of unneeded materials Verifying the accuracy of the data in our files and making relevant updates Organizing files as requested
